Trusted Protection in Newlyn
Newlyn lies a mile from Penzance, so its commercial map is shared with the larger town. Shoppers use Wharfside Shopping Centre, patients and visitors come to West Cornwall Hospital, and rail passengers arrive at Penzance. Evenings centre on the Newlyn Filmhouse, the Savoy Cinema, The Acorn and roughly 35 pubs, bars and clubs. Retail, healthcare, transport and leisure each bring their own risks, and we plan cover around the site rather than a template.
Newlyn Business Profile
Cornwall has 25,580 registered businesses. Construction is the largest group at 4,020, agriculture follows at 3,775 and professional services at 2,700. Two construction sites are mapped within 5km of Newlyn, and both can be covered with CCTV towers or overnight patrols. Our officers hold SIA licences, have passed BS 7858 vetting and are employed on PAYE, with each visit recorded by GPS book-on.
Farming is three times more common here than nationally, at 14.8% of firms against 4.5%, so the land around Newlyn has barns, stores and equipment that sit unwatched for long spells. Rural mobile patrols and solar CCTV towers fit that pattern. Utilities, at 1.0% against 0.6%, add remote installations where monitored cameras and alarm response through our 24/7 control room work well.
Penlee Park Open Air Theatre, the Newlyn Filmhouse and the Savoy Cinema are all within 5km. Harbour-side events drawing 200 or more will have Martyn's Law duties when the Act commences, and our event security team can help organisers plan ahead. What Martyn's Law means for venues.
