Of 585 offences inside a mile, 264 were violent or sexual, but for traders the useful details are shoplifting at 62, up 11%, and a police warning about anti-social driving and speeding in the Morrisons car park. E-scooter misuse is on the list too. That points to retail officers, car park CCTV and evening patrol visits rather than round-the-clock guards. - Latest quarter 13% below a year before - Shop theft 11% higher year on year - Police patrolling Morrisons car park speeding - Agriculture firms over three times the GB share Get a Quote [View Wincanton on OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=Wincanton%2C%20Somerset) Wincanton Business Profile ## Somerset trades and how we staff them Somerset counts around 24,670 registered businesses, with construction (3,685), agriculture (3,525) and professional services (3,100) the three largest groups. Farming is 14.3% of firms here, far above the 4.5% national figure, and those sites usually want rural mobile patrols and solar camera towers. Motor dealers, at 3.8% against 3.0%, tend to need forecourt towers and night visits against vehicle theft. Wincanton contracts are covered from our wider network rather than a large resident team, so we design around patrol routes, alarm call-outs and remote monitoring from our own control room. Officers hold SIA licences, pass BS 7858 vetting and are paid on PAYE, and every attendance carries a GPS record and a written report. 24,670 Registered businesses in Somerset 11 Pubs, bars & nightclubs within 5 km ### Estates and sites around Wincanton - **Industrial & business parks:** Bennetts Field Trading Estate, Wincanton Business Park and South West Coaches - **Hospitals:** Wincanton Community Hospital ### Venues & Martyn's Law There is 1 cinema within 5 km of Wincanton, including The Plaza Cinema.
