Security Requirements in Walthamstow ## Day and night in Walthamstow The town's shopping runs through 17 & Central and Stow Bazaar, with Central Highams Park and Tottenham Hale Retail Park a short way off. Healthcare is a major presence too, from Whipps Cross University Hospital to Homerton University Hospital and the Jane Atkinson Health and Wellbeing Centre. Hospitals and shopping centres share the same need for calm, visible officers who can manage busy entrances. After dark the balance shifts towards the 248 licensed premises and the venues, where trained door supervisors, good lighting and properly watched cameras do most of the work of keeping queues and closing times orderly.
