Security Requirements in Verwood ## Estates and a solar farm Verwood's 5km map is mostly industrial: Ebblake Industrial Estate, Long Meadow Industrial Estate and Ashley Heath Industrial Estate, plus Verwood Solar Farm. There are five pubs and bars, one mapped construction site and no retail park in range. Industrial units and a solar installation share a weakness: they are largely unattended outside working hours. Cable and panel theft, break-ins and damage are the risks to plan for, and mobile patrols, CCTV towers and monitored alarms are the practical tools. Verwood Security FAQs ## Frequently asked questions ### Is anti-social behaviour an issue for Verwood businesses? Yes, for some. It made up 89 of Police.uk's 399 offences inside the one-mile radius, second only to violence. Patrol visits after closing and camera coverage discourage loitering and damage around shopfronts and industrial units. ### Can you help retailers with shoplifting? Police.uk lists 43 shoplifting offences for the area, and the East Dorset Urban team names persistent shop theft among its priorities. A uniformed officer on the shop floor discourages it, backs up staff and keeps a written log for the police. ### Can you protect Verwood Solar Farm or similar sites? Solar installations are usually unattended and spread over open ground. CCTV towers with remote monitoring by an NSI Gold accredited centre, backed by mobile patrols, help deter cable and panel theft. ### Do you have officers near Verwood? Five registered security workers in our network live within 10 miles. For ongoing contracts we plan rotas in advance with the wider network, and every officer is SIA-licensed and vetted to BS 7858. ### What about farms and manufacturers in Dorset? Dorset's farms account for 10.7% of its business base and manufacturers for 6.4%, both ahead of national averages. Solar CCTV towers and rural patrols cover outlying farm buildings, while production units are better served by static guards and alarm response.
