The more pressing issue for business owners is the one police single out: rural crime. Monmouthshire's largest sector is agriculture, and farms store machinery, fuel and livestock in places nobody watches overnight. Mobile patrols on varied routes, solar CCTV towers and alarm response through our 24/7 control room are the right tools for that pattern. - 129 crimes recorded within one mile - Gwent Police prioritise rural crime - Agriculture: 15.9% of Monmouthshire firms - 10 SIA-active officers within 10 miles Get a Quote [View Usk on OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=Usk%2C%20Monmouthshire) Usk Business Profile ## Local officers and Monmouthshire's economy We have 25 registered security workers in our network living within 10 miles of Usk, ten of whom carry valid SIA badges and take bookings. Vetting follows BS 7858, and pay runs through PAYE. A local group of that size suits patrol rounds, key holding and alarm response; for longer static assignments, our control room adds officers from neighbouring rotas so cover stays consistent. Monmouthshire has 4,435 registered businesses. Agriculture leads with 705, close to professional services with 690, and construction has 510. Agriculture's share is 15.9% against 4.5% nationally, which is why rural mobile patrols and solar CCTV towers matter here. Hospitality is slightly above average at 7.2% against 6.5%, and the 15 pubs and bars inside 5km mean evening door cover is also in demand. 10 SIA-licensed officers within 10 miles 4,435 Registered businesses in Monmouthshire 15 Pubs, bars & nightclubs within 5 km ### Commercial areas we cover around Usk - **Industrial & business parks:** BAE Systems Glascoed Sources: Go Security officer network (counts rounded to the nearest 5); ONS UK Business Counts via Nomis; place data © [OpenStreetMap contributors](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright). With agriculture the leading sector, much of the property worth protecting is spread across farms and outbuildings rather than town-centre units. That favours patrols, remote cameras and key holding over permanent guards, with every check recorded by GPS.
