Builders lead on 1,225 firms, with professional services just behind on 1,200. Two sectors punch above their weight: makers at 6.1% of businesses, against 4.6% nationally, and the motor trade at 4.0% versus 3.0%. A production site wants controlled entry and someone to answer its alarm. A car showroom loses stock at night unless cameras and patrols are watching. We plan for both. - Motor trade forms 4.0% of local firms - Somersham Road and Needingworth industrial estates nearby - Five building plots mapped in the area - Recent crime 11% below a year earlier Get a Quote [View St Ives on OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=St%20Ives%2C%20Cambridgeshire) St Ives Business Profile ## Huntingdonshire industry and the officers serving it Five of our registered security workers give addresses within a ten-mile radius of St Ives. That is a modest local roster, so regular contracts are staffed in advance and supported by colleagues travelling in from around the county. Each has passed BS 7858 vetting and draws a PAYE wage, and every shift opens with a GPS check-in that our round-the-clock control room can see. Of 7,820 businesses in the district, business services make up 610 alongside the two big sectors. Units on Monsal Works or Hillside View hold machinery and finished goods, and the right answer there is often an access-controlled gate plus an alarm that a keyholder will attend. Forecourts call for camera towers and late patrols, since vehicles are the obvious prize after closing. 7,820 Registered businesses in Huntingdonshire 5 Active construction sites mapped within 5 km 23 Pubs, bars & nightclubs within 5 km ### St Ives estates, yards and shops - **Industrial & business parks:** Somersham Road Industrial Estate, Needingworth Industrial Estate, Monsal Works, Mick George, Marshalls and Hillside View - **Retail parks & shopping centres:** Abbey Retail Park and Burleigh Centre ### Venues & Martyn's Law The Lounge is the town's nightclub. Shoppers use Abbey Retail Park and the Burleigh Centre. Twenty-three licensed bars, pubs and clubs trade within 5km, so the evening has its own pattern.
