Construction is the biggest group with 1,085, then professional services with 660 and business services with 435. Transport and logistics reach 7.0%, comfortably over the 4.3% British rate, so yards and warehouses need gatehouse staff and night guarding. Utilities, though small at 0.9%, also exceed the GB share, and those sites suit remote CCTV monitoring. Our local pool is small. Fifteen security workers in our network are registered within 10 miles of Sittingbourne, and 10 hold a current SIA licence and are active for shifts. For larger events we plan rosters well ahead and support them from our 24/7 control room. Security Requirements in Sittingbourne ## Paper mills, energy and a town centre The 5km map around Sittingbourne takes in heavy industry: the Kemsley Paper Mill, Kemsley Energy from Waste, a battery storage site and Knauf's plasterboard works. Raspberry Hill Park adds smaller business units. Three stations, at Sittingbourne, Kemsley and Newington, serve the area, and Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital and Demelza House are nearby. Industrial sites like these call for static guarding, access control and monitored cameras rather than door staff. Sittingbourne Security FAQs ## Frequently asked questions ### Can you staff an event at a Sittingbourne venue? Yes. We provide SIA-licensed door supervisors, stewards and event security for functions at places such as Bowaters Club and the Light Cinema. Rosters are agreed in advance, officers book on by GPS, and our control room supports the team throughout the event. ### Does Martyn's Law apply to us? It applies to premises and events for 200 or more people. If your venue in Sittingbourne reaches that size, you will need a documented plan. Our free on-site audit, worth £250, reviews entrances, crowd flow and staffing as a starting point. ### We run a pub. Is door supervision worthwhile? With 42 pubs, bars and nightclubs within 5km and 1,265 violence and sexual offences recorded within a mile in a year, trained door staff help manage entry, refuse admission where needed and keep a written record of incidents. ### Do you cover industrial sites near Kemsley? Yes. The Kemsley Paper Mill, energy from waste plant and battery storage site are all within 5km. Utilities and logistics both run above national averages in Swale, and those sites typically use static guarding, gatehouse control and CCTV monitoring. ### How do you help shops at The Forum? Police.uk logged 547 shoplifting offences near the town centre, though the recent trend fell 16%. Retail officers and store detectives deter theft and support staff, and CCTV monitoring can extend cover outside trading hours.
