Professional services follow at 610, then agriculture at 365. Both building and farming run well above the national average here, which matters because plant, tools, fuel and livestock are tempting targets on open sites. For Rye businesses, that tends to mean out-of-hours patrols, solar CCTV towers and site guarding rather than a single officer behind a desk. - Construction is 17.6% of Rother firms against 14.1% nationally - Agriculture runs at 8.5%, nearly double the national rate - Jempson and Churchfields estates within 5km - Sussex Police lists burglary among its local priorities Get a Quote [View Rye on OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=Rye%2C%20East%20Sussex) Rye Business Profile ## Builders, growers and offices around Rye The 755 construction businesses in Rother make it the district's biggest sector. Their need is clear: site guarding, CCTV towers and out-of-hours patrols to stop plant and materials going missing between shifts. Four construction sites were mapped within 5km of Rye, and contractors working further afield can book the same cover. Every patrol visit is logged by GPS and written up in a digital report for the site manager. Agriculture accounts for 8.5% of local businesses compared with 4.5% across Britain, and 365 farms and growers are registered. Rural yards are often unlit and unwatched overnight, so solar CCTV towers and mobile patrols suit them well. The 610 professional services firms have simpler needs, usually key holding and alarm response, handled through our 24/7 control room. 4,280 Registered businesses in Rother 41 Pubs, bars & nightclubs within 5 km ### Estates, stations and venues near Rye - **Industrial & business parks:** Jempson Trading Estate, Churchfields Industrial Estate, Rye Governor Station and Peasmarsh - **Hospitals:** Rye, Winchelsea & District Memorial Hospital - **Rail stations:** Rye and Winchelsea ### Venues & Martyn's Law Kino cinema, The Monastery in Rye and The Cherry Barn all host audiences within 5km.
