Of those, 40 currently hold an SIA licence and can be booked for shifts, and 25 have a car for patrol routes and key-holding visits. That depth lets us staff regular retail and door contracts with consistent teams. Each officer is BS 7858 vetted and on PAYE, with GPS book-on confirming every shift. The Norwich council area has 5,115 registered businesses, with professional services at 840, hospitality at 500 and construction at 495. Hospitality forms 9.8% of local firms, compared with 6.5% across Great Britain, which is why door supervision and evening cover feature so strongly. Health and care runs ahead of the national share too, at 6.4%, and clinics and care providers often need reception security, lone-worker support and out-of-hours cover. 40 SIA-licensed officers within 10 miles 5,115 Registered businesses in Norwich 55 Warehouse buildings mapped within 5 km 30 Active construction sites mapped within 5 km ### Named sites within 5km of Norwich - **Industrial & business parks:** City Trading Estate, Paddock Street Industrial Estate, Waterworks, Carrow Works, Europa Way Industrial Estate and Guardian Road Industrial Estate - **Retail parks & shopping centres:** Castle Quarter shopping centre, Chantry Place, Cathedral Retail Park, Aylsham Road Business Park, Hall Road Retail Park and Sprowston Retail Park - **Hospitals:** Colman Hospital, The Julian Hospital, Norwich Community Hospital and Hellesdon Hospital - **Rail stations:** Norwich ### Venues & Martyn's Law The Theatre Royal, Cinema City and the Vue Cinema will take on Martyn's Law preparedness duties for audiences of 200 or more once the Act is commenced, and the largest may reach the enhanced tier at 800. Updated October 2026. Security Requirements in Norwich ## Character and commerce in Norwich Beyond its theatres and shops, Norwich has a solid industrial edge. City Trading Estate, Paddock Street, Guardian Road and Europa Way industrial estates all sit within 5km, as does the Carrow Works site, and 30 construction sites are mapped in the same radius. Healthcare premises include the Colman, Julian, Hellesdon and Norwich Community hospitals. That spread means a single Norwich business owner might need a guard in a shop, a door team at a bar and a patrol of a yard, sometimes in the same week. Planning them together usually works out simpler and better value.
