Construction leads with 425, retail follows with 335 and professional services with 320. Production firms account for 8.3% of the total, close to double the British 4.6%, so units on the estates need guarded gates, controlled entry and alarm response. The motor trade is 5.1% against 3.0%, bringing forecourts that benefit from CCTV towers and overnight patrols. Security Requirements in Nelson ## Nelson's character and its risks Stations at Nelson, Brierfield and Colne link the town, and Pendle Community Hospital and Burnley General Hospital serve it. Police have tied anti-social behaviour locally to Bonfire Night, and they run Op Prosper, a Clear Hold Build operation, in the area. For businesses, that points to extra attention around Bonfire Night and to steady, visible security the rest of the year. Mills and estates hold machinery and stock overnight, while shops face theft by day and licensed premises, 38 of them within 5km, see their busiest hours late at night. Each needs its own mix of officers, alarms and cameras.
