When that happens, a call to our 24/7 control room starts the process of finding a vetted officer who can be booked for the shift. Setting up key holding beforehand makes the whole thing smoother, because we already hold access and site instructions. - 24/7 control room for urgent bookings - 50 SIA-active officers within ten miles - Five local dog handlers for large yards - Vehicle crime: 459 offences within a mile Get a Quote [View Kirkstall on OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=Kirkstall%2C%20Leeds) Kirkstall Business Profile ## Who covers Kirkstall at short notice We can call on 85 registered security workers whose homes are within ten miles of Kirkstall. Security Requirements in Kirkstall ## Retail parks, trading estates and stations Kirkstall is ringed by retail and trading land: Abbey Retail Park, Kirkstall Bridge Shopping Park and Kirkstall Valley Retail Park on one side, and Burley Hill, Cardigan, Carlton and Scotch Park trading estates on the other. Kirkstall Forge is one of five stations within 5km, alongside Headingley, Burley Park, Bramley and Horsforth. Add 369 pubs, bars and clubs to that mix, and the list of things that can go wrong after dark grows long: a car park left full of vehicles, a shutter forced behind a retail unit, a pub window put through at closing. Kirkstall Security FAQs ## Frequently asked questions ### Our Kirkstall unit was broken into. Can you put a guard on it? Yes. Call our 24/7 control room and we will arrange an SIA-licensed officer from the 50 active in our local network, or a CCTV tower if that suits better. The guard stays until the building is secure, and every hour is logged by GPS. ### What happens if our alarm goes off and we cannot attend? With key holding in place, our officers attend instead. They check the premises, reset or secure them and file a digital report. That suits owners on estates such as Burley Hill Trading Estate who do not want to drive out at night. ### Can you protect vehicles after a theft? Vehicle crime reached 459 offences within a mile of Kirkstall, and it is a named police priority in the ward. After an incident, we can add monitored cameras, patrols at irregular hours or a static officer at a compound gate. ### We have an empty building between tenants. Can you check it? Property companies form 5.7% of Leeds businesses. We carry out vacant building inspections, hold keys and attend alarms, and if a building is damaged or entered, the control room can book a static guard to hold it. ### Do you have dog handlers near Kirkstall? Five dog handlers in our network live within ten miles. K9 teams suit large yards and empty sites where a dog's presence and search ability are a strong deterrent, especially after a break-in.
