The numbers are small, and the business risk sits mainly outside town, where police report a rise in suspicious activity and farm thefts. Isolated barns, fuel stores and equipment sheds are hard to watch. Mobile patrols, solar CCTV towers and alarm response suit that kind of spread-out property. - 115 offences recorded within a mile in a year - Police report recent thefts targeting local farms - Agriculture is 20.8% of local businesses - Six construction sites mapped within 5km Get a Quote [View Kirkby Lonsdale on OpenStreetMap](https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=Kirkby%20Lonsdale%2C%20Cumbria) Kirkby Lonsdale Business Profile ## Rural business in Westmorland and Furness Westmorland and Furness has 11,495 registered businesses. Agriculture is the biggest sector with 2,395, ahead of construction at 1,555 and hospitality at 1,155. Farming's share, 20.8% against 4.5% across Britain, shapes the security picture. Machinery, livestock and fuel are spread over wide areas, so patrols and remote cameras work better than a fixed guard. Utilities are also above the national average at 1.0% of firms against 0.6%, and those sites typically call for critical-site guarding with remote CCTV monitoring. Every officer we place is SIA-licensed, BS 7858 vetted and on the PAYE payroll. Patrol visits use GPS book-on and produce digital reports, and our 24/7 control room handles alarm activations from remote premises. 11,495 Registered businesses in Westmorland and Furness 6 Active construction sites mapped within 5 km 10 Pubs, bars & nightclubs within 5 km ### Work sites near Kirkby Lonsdale - **Industrial & business parks:** Daleside Welding and Fabrication and Lupton Sources: Go Security officer network (counts rounded to the nearest 5); ONS UK Business Counts via Nomis; place data © [OpenStreetMap contributors](https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright). Within 5km the named business sites are few, Daleside Welding and Fabrication and Lupton among them, alongside six mapped construction sites and ten pubs and bars. There is no rail station in that radius. With property spread thinly, security planning here is mostly about covering distance: scheduled patrols, key holding and cameras that report to an NSI Gold accredited monitoring centre.
