Construction tops the list at 2,045, professional services follow at 1,935 and retail at 1,710. Manufacturing takes 8.5% of the register, well above the 4.6% British figure, so mills and production sites such as Park Valley Mills and Broomfield Mills Industrial Estate need access control, static guards and alarm attendance. Health and care, at 6.4% against 4.4%, brings clinics and care settings needing reception staff and lone-worker support. Security Requirements in Huddersfield ## Mills, shops and stadium crowds Within 5km of the centre lie six industrial sites, from Queens Mill Business Centre to Black Cat Fireworks, and six shopping destinations including the Ringway Centre and Great Northern Retail Park. Three hospital sites, five stations from Lockwood to Honley and 135 pubs, bars and clubs fill out the picture, along with 27 mapped building plots. That density means busy streets by day and a large evening economy. Retail protection and door supervision therefore sit alongside industrial patrols, and a single contract can bundle a store detective in town with a night round of the mills.
