Security Requirements in Fenham ## A residential suburb close to the city Fenham is mostly homes, but its 5km radius reaches a great deal of commerce: the Adelaide Shopping Centre, Kenton Park Shopping Centre, West Denton and St James retail parks, and estates such as Armstrong Industrial Park and Dunston Industrial Estate. The Royal Victoria Infirmary and St Nicholas Hospital are also nearby, along with 36 mapped construction sites. Local businesses are often small and close to housing, so nuisance and damage tend to land on shop fronts, car parks and yards. Visible patrols at irregular hours and cameras covering parked vehicles make the biggest difference. Fenham Security FAQs ## Frequently asked questions ### How can we stop vehicles being targeted overnight at our premises? Overnight vehicle crime is one of the two Fenham and Scotswood police priorities, and 349 vehicle crimes were recorded within a mile. CCTV towers monitored via an NSI Gold accredited centre, lighting checks and mobile patrols at varied times all reduce the chance of cars and vans being hit. ### How many security workers do you have near Fenham? Our network includes 60 registered security workers within 10 miles of Fenham, of whom 30 are SIA-licensed and available to book. That local pool helps us fill regular rotas and extra cover for events. ### Can you provide security for a clinic or care home? Yes. Health and care makes up 6.4% of Newcastle upon Tyne businesses, above the 4.4% national figure. We provide reception security, support for lone workers and evening or weekend cover, with visits recorded in digital reports. ### Is motorcycle anti-social behaviour a problem for businesses? It is one of the stated priorities for the local police team. Open car parks and yards can attract riders, so patrols, barriers and monitored CCTV help keep sites from being used as tracks or meeting points. ### Do you supply door staff in this part of Newcastle?
