Security Requirements in Fallowfield ## Students, venues and building sites Greater Manchester Police's Platt Fields team give a strong clue to the local character: their priorities include personal safety advice for university students, student burglaries, and anti-social off-road bike use on the Fallowfield Loop. Robbery, drug dealing and violence against women and girls are also on their list. For landlords and businesses, that points to secure entrances, CCTV, well-staffed venues and regular checks of empty properties outside term time. The Christie hospital lies inside the 5km circle too. Ninety building plots have been mapped across that same radius, and each one leaves plant, cabins and materials standing idle overnight, which is where CCTV towers and patrol rounds come in.
