Construction leads with 700, professional services follows on 615 and transport and logistics on 450. Distribution sites such as J4M8 typically need controlled vehicle access, checks on trailers and seals, and guards who can keep a gatehouse log. Where a yard is quiet overnight, mobile patrols with GPS-recorded visits and alarm response backed by key holding fill the gap. The motor trade makes up 4.8% of firms compared with 3% nationally. Forecourts and vehicle storage are exposed after closing, so CCTV towers monitored by an NSI Gold accredited centre, together with overnight patrols, are the usual measures.
