# Privacy notice

How Go Security Ltd collects and uses personal information through this website, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: 13 October 2026

## 1. Who we are

This website is run by **Go Security Ltd**, trading as Go Security, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11722692), of Unit 2K1, Hastingwood Business Park, Wood Lane, Birmingham B24 9QR. We are the controller of the personal information described in this notice, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller, registration number **ZB604756**.

For anything about your personal information, contact us at [control@gosecurity.uk](mailto:control@gosecurity.uk), call [0800 471 4792](tel:+448004714792), or write to the address above.

## 2. What this notice covers

This notice covers information collected through gosecurity.uk: enquiry and quote forms, the free security audit and checklist form, job applications, and the technical information created when you use the site. If you become a client, employee or officer, we will give you a separate notice covering that relationship.

## 3. Information we collect

### When you contact us or ask for a quote or audit

- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your company name, the service or site type you are interested in, and your message

### When you apply for a job

- Your name, email address, phone number and nearest town
- The role and county you are applying for
- Whether you hold an SIA licence, a CCTV licence or a dog handler qualification
- Your CV, if you email it to us

We do not ask for criminal record, health or other special category information through this website. If your application progresses, any screening (for example, to the BS 7858 standard) is explained to you separately before it starts.

### Technical information

- When you send a form, your IP address is held for about ten minutes in a short-term record that stops the same device sending large numbers of forms. It is not stored with your message or emailed to us
- Our web host records standard server logs (such as IP address, pages requested and browser type) to run and secure the site

### Do you have to give us this information?

No. Giving us your details is voluntary, but we need a way to contact you to reply to an enquiry, and we need to know about your licences to consider a job application. Without them we may not be able to help.

## 4. How we use it, and our lawful basis

- **Answering enquiries, quotes and audit requests**, and sending the security checklist you ask for: to take steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- **Considering job applications** and contacting you about suitable work: to take steps at your request before an employment contract, and our legitimate interest in recruiting.
- **Keeping the site and our inbox secure**, including blocking spam: our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.
- **Meeting legal obligations**, for example right-to-work and licensing checks if you join us: legal obligation.

We do not send marketing emails to people who contact us through this website unless you ask us to. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

## 5. Who we share it with

- **Service providers** who host our website and email and process information only on our instructions.
- **Screening partners**, such as our sister company Instant Check, only if your job application progresses to vetting and after we have told you.
- **Professional advisers, regulators, the police or courts** where the law requires it or to protect people and property.

## 6. Services loaded by this website

Some parts of the site load content from other organisations. When your browser fetches it, they receive your IP address and basic browser information:

- **OpenStreetMap** map tiles and place search, for the maps on our pages
- **postcodes.io**, which receives the postcode you type into our coverage checker so it can look it up, and the location of the town on our town pages to list nearby postcode districts
- **Wikipedia / Wikimedia Commons** for local landmark photos on our town pages
- **GO CCTV** (gocctv.co.uk), our sister company, for the product photos on our CCTV page

Links to other sites, such as LinkedIn, Google Maps, Trustpilot or Police.uk, only share information if you choose to visit them. Those organisations have their own privacy notices.

## 7. Cookies and browser storage

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and this site does not set cookies. To load maps faster, your browser may keep a small local record of the place names it has looked up; it contains no personal information and you can clear it in your browser settings at any time.

## 8. How long we keep it

- **Enquiries and quotes:** up to 2 years after our last contact, unless you become a client.
- **Unsuccessful job applications:** up to 6 months after the role is filled or the application is closed, so we can contact you about similar work and deal with any questions about the decision.
- **Successful applicants:** moved into your employment record and covered by our employee privacy notice.

### How we protect it

The site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, forms are protected against spam and repeated submissions, and only staff who need your information to deal with your enquiry or application can see it.

## 9. Where it is processed

We aim to keep personal information in the UK. Some of the service providers above may process it outside the UK; where they do, they rely on recognised safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

## 10. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information
- restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it where we rely on legitimate interests
- send it to you or another organisation in a usable format, where that applies

To use any of these rights, email [control@gosecurity.uk](mailto:control@gosecurity.uk). There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month.

## 11. Complaints

Please contact us first and we will try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: [ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint](https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/) or 0303 123 1113.

## 12. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when our website or practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
